Here are our group bike workouts during the summer.  Please follow the rules of the road, obey all traffic signs, and respect motorists.  Helmets are mandatory, as well as wearing them properly.  Watch out for each other and communicate and road hazards.  Be safe out there.

Tuesday nights, starting April 15th, 2008:

Wheels out at 6pm!

JOECK'S MEMORIAL FIELD - LANNON, WI
This challenging ride begins at Joeck's Field in the town of Lannon on Tuesdays.  Be ready to ride at 6pm sharp.  The full course is approximately 32-miles, looping through the rolling hills of the scenic Holy Hill church area (No, we don't go up to the church but darn close to it!)  Note this is a difficult course. It features several steep climbs along with some downhill descents and railroad crossings that require careful control  of your bike and extreme caution for traffic.  As always, ride with caution and safety in mind and obey all traffic laws. 


Thursday nights, starting June 5th, 2008:

WHEEL AND SPROCKET - FOX POINT 
This Tuesday night ride begins in the parking lot of the  North Shore Wheel & Sprocket  and starts rolling the wheels at 6pm sharp.  There are bathrooms available as well as FREE sports drink courtesy of Wheel & Sprocket.  This 35 mile out-and-back ride starts on Lake Drive and continues north to the turnaround point in Ozaukee County.  The course is relatively flat with just a few gradual hills.  As always, ride with caution and safety in mind and obey all traffic laws.


Thursday nights, starting April 17th, 6:00 PM
LADIES NIGHT BIKE RIDE


Hey gals!  Training for Danskin?  Not quite ready for the longer rides? This workouts for you.  Led by some of our most experienced triathletes, this ride format will be an out-and-back ride with an optional brick run to follow.  No one will be dropped!     Plenty of tips and support on all training aspects.  The starting location will atlternate between Hansen Park in Wauwatosa, and the Lake Park Bistro parking lot north of downtown Milwaukee.     Be ready to ride at 6pm sharp!  (Click here for the queue sheet for the Lake Park ride.)

Hansen Park: June 12th, June 26th, July 10th, July 24th, August 7th, August 21st.
Lake Park: June 5th, June 19th, July 17th, July 31st, August 14th, August 28th
(There will not be a ride on July 3rd)


Saturday mornings
SW YMCA Wheels out at 8:23 am
This is the long course workout with mileage up to 40, 60 and even 100.  There will be no "sweepers" for this course.  This is a rolling hills course designed for endurance.  Rider speeds vary.  Show up and yell out your distance and time if someone asks, you may find company.  Otherwise, visit our forum and prearrange your escort.  For details, queue sheets, or maps click here.

From downtown Milwaukee, head west on I-94
Exit I-894 bypass west (left exit) 
Exit Beloit Road
Go west (right) on Beloit Road
Turn north (right) on Howard Avenue
Southwest Y is on your left. 
Group gathers in parking lot closest to intersection of Beloit and
112th/Howard Ave.

Where: 

Transition Cycle Open Water Swim.  Mondays 5:30 - 7:00pm. (CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO CONDITION OF LAKE)

Bike

Where:

Saturday mornings: SW YMCA ride, 8:23am  (This is an unsupported ride)

Tuesday night: Lannon Park 6:00pm 

Thursday ladies night rides start 4/15/08, alternating weekly between Hansen Park and Lake Park.

Thursday night ride: 6:00pm, Wheel and Sprocket Northshore (formerly was on Tuesdays) 

Run

Where:

Wednesday 6:00 pm Track practices at Hart Park.
