As a member of a TriClub or Team enrolled in the IRONMAN TriClub program, you are a valued member of our IRONMAN community. We are pleased to announce exciting new changes to our race registration process offered to TriClubs and TriClub members. These changes are:

    • Early Entry to IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events
    • Priority Tiered Pricing
    • 2018 Deferral Program
    • 2018 Payment Plan Option

Early Entry: For years you have told us that one of the greatest benefits we can offer you as a community is early entry into our events. Specifically beginning with the event opening of IRONMAN Texas and IRONMAN Boulder (expected next week), affiliated TriClub members along with IRONMAN All World Athletes will be offered early entry to every IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events in North America.

Priority Tiered Pricing: IRONMAN is also moving to a Tiered Pricing model based on slot inventory rather than dates. Slots at each tier are limited and once slots are sold out, the price will increase. Athletes who take advantage of the early entry offer will have “first crack” at limited Priority Tier slots, effectively providing you, as a club member, the best possible pricing tier for your race registration. Priority Tiered slots are EXTREMELY limited.

2018 IRONMAN Deferral Program: Athletes who register within the first 90 days of general entries becoming available are eligible to defer their IRONMAN entry (this is NOT offered for IRONMAN 70.3 events) into the next year’s event at no cost. All requests will be honored until 45 days out from the original event date. The deferral may only be used once. Athletes who elect to defer their entries forfeit any partial refund or insurance refund. Deferrals are only available for individual entries and not for relay teams.

2018 Payment Plan Option: Athletes who register for IRONMAN events (this is not offered for IRONMAN 70.3’s) within the first 90 days of general entries becoming available may elect to pay via a three-part payment plan. Athletes will be charged the Tier 3 price in three equal installments. To elect the payment plan, an athlete needs to register under the “Payment Plan” category during the first 90 days of general entries being available and make the initial $250 payment. Athletes will then receive instructions on when they can expect the next payment link and due dates for subsequent payments. All three payments must be completed for an athlete to race – partial payments will not be refunded or honored as race entries. Athletes electing the payment plan may also utilize the deferral option listed above once all three payments have been completed.

    Notes on program changes:
IMPORTANT!! ONLY ATHLETES WHO ARE AFFILIATED WITH A TRICLUB AND OPTED INTO EMAIL COMMUNICATION WILL RECEIVE EARLY ENTRY LINKS. THESE LINKS WILL BE SENT FROM ACTIVE.COM

If you are receiving this email you already have a profile with IRONMAN.com or are affiliated with your TriClub in our system. You may have friends and fellow club members however that have not created a profile or affiliated. With our first races opening soon, we strongly suggest you get the word out to your teammates to get their profiles lined up.

A couple of links to help you get the word out:

Once an account is created it will take 24 hours for registrations, results and the TriClub drop down menu to appear. We are really excited about this new process and hope you are too! Please feel free to reach out to triclub@ironman.com with any questions.

Wheel and Sprocket was one of the first to sponsor TriWI because Chris Kegel saw the benefit of supporting local groups in an age where you can get anything from the internet.

Ink to the People and Amelia Kegel from Wheel and Sprocket partnered up to launch a fundraising campaign for her father; Chris Kegel Foundation. They have teamed up to create an inspiring shirt to not only raise funds for this foundation, but to commemorate the tireless work that Mr. Kegel did in our communities here in Wisconsin as well as throughout the United States.

The foundations focus will be to continue Chris' commitment to improving lives by providing greater access to cycling and supporting the community through enhanced infrastructure, ride support, and opportunities to introduce more people to the joys of cycling.

The online campaign can be found here:  http://inktothepeople.com/kegelstrong

We would love your support in sharing and promoting this fundraiser as well as re-posting either our Facebook post or Wheel and Sprockets Facebook post via your Social channels and Facebook pages.

Please reach out to Eric directly (below) if you'd like any further information regarding Ink to the People or these fundraising efforts, or to Ashton Chase for the Chris Kegel Foundation

    RESULTS:

The winner was "Design Uno" with 44.4%.

    FAQ's:

    1. Why we decided to only offer a triathlon kit?

Offering a bike jersey, bib shorts, and/or running shirt and not meeting minimums (14 per style) could impact our budget greatly. If we don't meet the minimums, we (TriWisconsin) have to buy up the rest of each style. This could be thousands of dollars and could take away money that we could use to support rides, clinics, workouts, etc.

If enough interest is generated we could offer other options on our second order.

    2. Why are these so expensive?

Actually these are less than a regular kit from Wattie Ink. We wanted to find a kit manufacturer that was local or at least 100% made in the US. Also, we wanted to offer a quality kit over a low quality/inexpensive one. Comparing to other high end kits out there we have a very competitive price for our custom kits.

When choosing a company there are a lot of factors to consider: quality and fit of the product, ease of distribution (do they deliver to one address or to multiple), do they have a team store or do we have to collect money from everyone, how many design revisions can we make, how many times can we open the store, what are the minimum quantities, etc.

After several weeks of research and contacting many companies we decided to go with Wattie Ink. They did not disappoint with the design and we hope that everyone that places an order enjoys their kits.

Once again we thank you for you support and we always welcome feedback and/or any comments.

    Thanks for reading!

Tri My Best is an annual triathlon for children and young adults with developmental disabilities. This year on August 6th 2017, Tender Touch Therapy and the Kenosha YMCA will be hosting the 3rd annual Tri My Best Triathlon.

Tri My Best is looking for volunteers to assist their athletes through the course. They make sure that the race is authentic in that they train their athletes, time them through their race, and let them do as much as possible by themselves. To ensure safety however, they must provide their athletes with buddies.

We are asking our members if any one is willing to volunteer at their event.

Included the volunteer sign up link

Short YouTube video that recaps last year's event.
